MultiRes - A Free Windows Application
MultiRes is a Windows application that allows you to change the display settings of up to nine display devices. The software is designed for fast resolution changes, and it also provides advanced features like ClearType and refresh rates. However, it lacks some essential features.
To change the display settings of your monitors, you can use the MultiRes menu in the system tray. It is also possible to access the same information via the command line. You can even lock the refresh rate.
MultiRes has a handy palette. When it is active, it shows up in the 3D viewport, and it offers sliders for adjusting brush settings. Depending on how you configure the software, you can see or hide the palette. Likewise, you can show or hide the Sculpt HUD button.
MultiRes can be useful for sculpting. This tool is great for reducing the number of polygons in your models. Moreover, it can be used to bake out a normal map.
MultiRes also has some other cool features. One of them is its ability to merge vertices within elements.
Another cool feature is its ability to preserve texture discontinuities. For instance, the Vertex Merging function closes gaps between vertices as the vertex resolution decreases.
MultiRes also has a cool Weld function, which is great for cleaning up extra vertices. And the MultiRes Modifier can be added to a model to perform subdivisions and other sculpting tricks.
While MultiRes might not have a graphical user interface, it has a handy system tray icon. Click on the icon to open the MultiRes menu.
